Is it worth staying at the Pontal beach ?
Normally, the places and the hostels at the beach are more cheaper than the historical center. But don’t worry, because in five minutes walk, you can visit the most charming place in Paraty.

I recommend a lot of Geko and Chill In Hostel, where breakfast is on the beach and you already start the day with a beautiful look!
Another great thing about Pontal beach is the restaurants that offer executive dishes and snacks. The beach water is not suitable for swimming, but the place is a great stop to relax after a walk.
During your stay, see if something is going on in the city. When there is a festival, city anniversary or holiday, Pontal beach receives special concerts.

The Fort of Paraty
Between the Pontal and Jabaquara beaches, we have the Defensor Perpétuo Fort. It is a great walk, because today the old house is a Museum where it tells a little about the history of the city of Paraty.
