WHY DO YOU OFFER FREE TOURS?
Our model was inspired by a new concept of tourism coming from Europe, where people pay at the end, if they want and if they enjoy the tour. We believe that everyone should learn about the culture of Rio de Janeiro, regardless of their budget.
We also believe that to ensure the quality, fun and safety of our customers, tours should not be paid for in advance.
The idea is to do our best and, in the end, you decide if it was worth it!
WHAT IF IT RAINS? (AGAIN?)
ALL of our tours take place rain or shine! Just remember to bring an umbrella or raincoat in case the sun doesn’t grace us with its radiant presence!
DO I NEED TO BOOK THE TOUR?
No reservation is necessary for groups of less than 8 (eight) people. Just show up at the meeting points and look for our unmistakable red t-shirts.
Now, if you are part of a group with more than 8 (eight) people, please send an email to info@freewalkertours.com and schedule your tour.
DO YOU OFFER TOURS TO CHRIST THE REDEEMER?
No, Free Walker offers tours to Centro and Lapa (day and night), Boulevard Olímpico, Santa Teresa, Copacabana and Ipanema (also day and night). If you want to visit Christ the Redeemer, the best company in Rio that offers this tour is
S2 Rio.
WHAT IF I’M THE ONLY PERSON ON THE TOUR?
To this day, this has never happened on Free Walker’s tours. Come with peace of mind, fun and a great audience are guaranteed!
CAN I PAY BY CREDIT CARD AT THE FOOD TOUR OR PUB CRAWL MEETING POINT?
Yes!
We don’t usually accept cash, only on rare occasions. And most of the bars and restaurants we frequent also accept cards.
Please note that our Rio Food Tour may be cancelled close to departure time if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
IS THE ROUTE SAFE?
We carefully and knowledgeably choose each location, route and stop to ensure the safety of all travelers. You can come with peace of mind!
CAN I BRING MY CAMERA TO TAKE PHOTOS?
Of course! The only recommendation, as in any big city in the world, is to be careful and attentive (not only on our tour, but anywhere in the city). And it is always good, anywhere in Rio, to keep valuables hidden.
DO YOU ALSO OFFER PRIVATE TOURS?
Yes. We offer tours for family groups, school groups, business groups, groups of friends, excursions… Contact us (info@freewalkertours.com) for more information!
WHAT TO BRING ON THE TOURS?
We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, a hat/cap, sunglasses, bringing water and using sunscreen.
DO WE ENTER THE PLACES LISTED IN THE ITINERARY?
In most cases, no, because if we did, our tour would last at least 24 hours! We tell the story, the curiosities, give tips and pass on all the information so that, if you are interested in returning, you will be up to date with the entire history of the place.
