This location was inspired by the English film “Lord Jim” with Peter O’Toole, filmed in 1965, the “Lord Jim” Pub was founded in 1974. 18- TEMPORADA – HOTEL ARPOADOR INN

Started by the same owners of Canastra in the same neighborhood, the decoration has a more retro style, with plants, photographs. antique furniture and china with more tropical designs. This place has a main star: the roasted chicken, served with Calabrian potatoes and farofa, which is prepared on a custom-made grill right at the entrance of the house.

The menu has more elaborate options as well. The drinks are super charming and delicious, with wine selections too, with very reasonable prices. The clients evaluate very well this new darling in Ipanema.

On the ground floor of Hostel El Misti Ipanema, this pizzeria works in self-service system. The masterpiece of the house is baked in the gas oven, served in a unique size, with aerated edge and toastadinha. The dough goes through a long fermentation, with eight choices of toppings. The most classic is the margherita, the marinara is a good option without cheese, and a few other options.

A difference of the place is the possibility of the client to assemble his own pizza from a list of ingredients, containing 25 options, based on pasta with tomato sauce and grana padano cheese. For the drinks it has the options of beer and wine but it is highly recommended also to sample some of the drinks offered by the house.

35- THE ALE HOUSE

Opened in 2013, the space is a mix of bar and shop, a pioneer in the importation of premium beers in Brazil, where the vast range of beers hits 400 labels from all over the world, especially the Belgian ones. The ambiance is dimly lit, with wooden walls and packed to the sound of good old rock n ‘roll. It is worth mentioning that this is a place for those who do not mind spending a little more. In addition to the bottled beers, the bar serves Belgian draft beer, which varies every fortnight, with an all-you-can-eat and four different options served at the counter.

From Thursday to Saturday until the end of the month, the customer consumes two of the available chopps from the taps and the third is free. Pretty cool huh? On the menu of the house, some options worth trying out are the mix of mini sausages served with dark mustard and typical Belgian dish and the Vlaams Stoofvlees dish made with beef cooked in Belgian dark beer, meaning a true paradise for connoisseurs drink.

A recent venture, run by a veteran in the field, located in the old Warehouse Devassa. The place has a relaxed, well-kept, with pop music in the atmosphere with TVs linked in sports channels, L-shaped balcony and high desks on the sidewalk. The space offers refreshing drinks like the so-called tropical summer and the more spicy bloody duck which is a rereading of the bloody mary. In the menu is offered the recipe that takes the name of the house, in two versions: one more robust and the other for snack, in addition to other options of dishes for all tastes.

It’s perfect for those who enjoy Japanese cuisine with very tasty and interesting options. Plus vegan options. With well-crafted desserts, the house does not leave anything to be desired in the culinary aspect. House drinks range from wine, liquor and sake.
